Melrose Education Appoints Sustainability Leads Across All Schools to Support Let’s Go Zero 2030 Campaign

Melrose Education is proud to announce that in March 2025, it took a bold step towards a more sustainable future by embarking on appointing a Sustainability Lead in every school across the group. These roles are dedicated to driving positive environmental action and supporting learners and staff in reducing their carbon footprint.

The newly appointed Sustainability Leads will work closely on the Let’s Go Zero 2030 campaign, a national initiative uniting UK schools in a shared goal to become zero carbon by 2030. Each Sustainability Lead will help implement practical, school-wide changes, such as reducing energy use, improving recycling, and promoting climate-conscious behaviours in everyday routines.

This move aligns with Melrose Education’s commitment to creating inclusive, forward-thinking environments where learners not only thrive academically and emotionally, but also grow up as responsible global citizens.

Tracey Storey, Founder, Executive Chair and CEO of Melrose Education, commented:

“At Melrose, we believe that education should empower young people to lead change, not just for their futures, but for the future of our planet. By appointing a Sustainability Lead in every school, we are embedding environmental responsibility into the heart of our culture. We’re delighted to be working alongside the Let’s Go Zero 2030 team and are excited about the positive impact this will have across our school communities.”

Through this partnership, Melrose Education is not only reducing its environmental impact, but also providing learners with meaningful opportunities to engage in sustainability and climate action, ensuring that every child’s voice can be part of the solution.
